Vegies - A.
Rice - A-mazing! We will talk more about this below.
Sauce - Nope, this one is - while not bad - not really anything!
Another perfectly cooked meal - and, as promised, I am going to go ahead and declare that you can just go ahead a bet on a well cooked lunch if you go with this line and set the microwave for the right amount of time. This sauce is a very weak (to the point of almost not being there) version of the previous Mediterranean meals sauce. (BTW - when I realized I did these on back to back days I saw my own lack of a smart choice.) I am a bit of a blander side of things person (cooking, this only applies to cooking) and if I notice something is a bit flat it is probably VERY flat for a person who really enjoys FLAVOR that punches the tongue. So, for me where I could maybe see a fail with the sauce there is a HUGE, RIDONKULOUS PASS with the rice. A PASS that makes me think all of these could be winners on some level. Ready? Rice. I love rice - I HATE REWARMED rice. I don't like it warmed later in the day, or fridge and then warmed and I can not stand frozen rice! So, now that you know that you can imagine the disdain that I approached this meal with (take whatever you imagined just now and times it by ten, still probably not enough!) This rice was - PERFECTLY cooked. It was as if I cooked it myself on the stove. Fluffy, soft with a bit of substance! I am about to say I love HC and their Cafe Steamers!

Today's Gourmet - Field trip last Thursday!
The girls and I woke up on time and had our shiz together, in fact I had time to make eggs for breakfast. As I was taking the eggs out little Putt asked for a job. I put her on lunches, not making them but getting everything together. Putt took the turkey out of the fridge noticed it was open when a few pieces fell out, her reaction to this? But of course she dumped the rest so that the cats could feast with abandon. Argh! So suddenly I have to pick up lunch, I no longer have time for eggs. At this point we barely have time for mobile breakfast, which is what we ate.
So the other day we had a field trip to go on, little Putt and I. I love doing these school things with the kids, but this trip was so wretchedly wrong from the jump! First of all it rained all morning and the pumpkin patch was a sloppy mess, but that was a nonissue for a while because we did this -
for an hour. That’s right, we just waited with NOTHING for the kids to do before we took the first graders to watch this for 45 minutes.
Don't get me wrong, my child loved the movie. I pride myself on having kids who are pretty age appropriate. Still, most of the kids are over Elmo and somewhere around the ten minute mark it became painfully obvious that our group had already sat for an hour too long. Even the kids who wanted to watch couldn't due to noise, so they gave up and the noise got worse.
After that we went to pick our pumpkin. The teacher made a rule that kids had to carry whatever pumpkin they picked. I seems to me that we should have done the patch last then, so that we wouldn't have to haul the dang things around. What do I know, I am but a parent. On ward, to the patch! Putt and I select a pumpkin and then take a few pictures and then.... We sit, again. For twenty minutes, in the sun, running isn't allowed, nor is browsing once you have picked your pumpkin. Uh huh. This sucks.
The trip sucked, but lunch was good! Check it!

Keeping Busy
After that we have a brief walking tour planned BUT my legs were too messed up and I had to call it off. GoB was great about that.
We watched some Seeker on Netflix and then headed out to shop at WallyWorld and have a bit-o-sushi. After that we went to the bar and watched the Broken Heart Pharaohs play a few songs until well into the night (early morning.)
Sunday I drove to Mimi's house to pick up her and the kids. It was an insane few and I am proud of myself for sticking with this new life and for being quite active despite the pain I feel. I am proud of my GoB because she dealt with me, sleepy and hungry and sun burned, like a sweet and loving pro!

Keeping busy.
After God, I have the support of my family. My beautiful partner is currently WW with me. My Auntie and my BFF are also checking in. My (hatefully) skinny sister cheers me on and my daughter, while sad that I won't be round as she has come to think mothers should be, is still happy that her mother is getting healthier everyday!
I have my blog - I swear, I just bring my obsession, my fears, my thoughts and my cravings and I lay them on this blog and it works! I also bring my victories and it's been awesome. To have this space and have this time.
As another weekend approaches and the children will be with MiMi I thought to myself - keep busy. Find things other than food to do. I decided to embark on a sewing journey. I am heading to the fabric store this afternoon, after I get my hair did - that's right! Getting the hair DONE! Yay! Anyway, I want to make dresses and a bag of some sort - maxi style dresses. Not dresses this weekend, I will be happy just having a dress done this weekend. I just might, too!
See how badly I need something done to my hair? I'll post another pic sometime this weekend of the Ta-DA!
