Little FAT Me

I work full time and I barely have time to breathe. In 2005 hurricane Katrina rearranged my life, since then I have gained roughly 80-90 pounds. I believe that it started in depression and became an addiction. I have started and failed many diets and then decided that MAYBE if I combine diet and exercise with blogging and shopping I might be able to find success. This is the story of 2010 and my struggle to rise above addiction, pain, depression and fat.

So excited! The Borrowers was one of my fav books and The Littles was one of my fav cartoons!

This #Sunday I will be completing my first #half_marathon in #New_Orleans!!! I am so stoked!

This is happening THIS weekend. I feel myself about to jump out myself! I am so excited.
I am a twee bit nervous, I want to have a great time but I am still sore and achy. All is well, though. It’s gonna be a girls day to remember!

Who knows me best?

I am a lucky girl, and the more of these that I do the more I appreciate it. My mom always worried I didn’t go enough places or hang out with enough people. That small group, however, has stayed strong and is still in my life. There is one person missing, that is my sister. My sister should definitely be in there, but I don’t have a photo on my phone and that is how I am doing this challenge. Boo!

That’s my wife, kids, BFF and two high school friends who are my family.

Gossip blogs, coffee, and online shopping. I am ready to start my day!

Over a year and the passion is still going strong!!

Who am I?

I am a mother, who recently (within the last two years) lost 119 pounds. I am a lesbian who lives in a state that doesn’t think I should be able to have a wife, so I traveled to VT to marry my partner and give my kids a official family unit. I am a stay at home wife who home schools her children and loves to read and create art. I have a quirky sense of style and a furious love of fashion. I adore cats and have six of them. I am an artist and believe that that also shows up in the kitchen, as I love to cook! I am an incredibly lucky girl because I am loved by so many and in so many ways!

The questions:

1. Who am I?
2. Who knows me best?
3. How old am I? (Or how old do I feel?)
4. The most important thing in my life is…
5. I always carry…
6. Something I always do.
7. I’m at my happiest when…
8. On a Monday morning, you can find me…
9. My favorite mode of transport.
10. My eyes are…
11. My favorite material possession…
12. To relax I like to…
13. The town I live in is…
14. My worst habit is…
15. My guilty pleasure is…
16. When I look at someone the first thing I see is…
17. I think __ is beautiful.
18. One thing I can live without is…
19. One thing people don’t know about me.
20. My life is…

I found these thanks to lob here on 43things!

I just found this due to Dr. Teeth -

I want to do it, but where do I find the questions???

Fruits & Veggies A to Z

So I think I have talked about not being a cook until recently in life. 2007, is when I got a Rachel Ray cookbook and started to learn. By 2008 I was going rouge and just trusting myself, now i think I am pretty good. I always want to start my own, but get too overwhelmed. Or I pick a cookbook up but then it’s all kinds of crap you just don’t have in your fridge or hanging around. So, knowing that Weight Watchers cookbooks are relatively easy going I picked up this one. I like it, they are simple, relatively easy and use daily produce. I figured it was a good way to get to know new fruits and veggies and to also rediscover the ones I use daily. To think outside the box.
I then decided to go for it. To go through from start to finish, and OF COURSE to blog the entire thing! Yay!

That's our daddy cat! Love the dude!

A late Valentine's Day present! My wife used marzipan and rainbow food coloring to say she loves me!

Man VS. Food

Have you ever seen this show? I adore it! I want to be on it! I want to challenge Adam to some crazy (non spicy) food feat, preferably in the breakfast category, or pizza. I would so smash this little cutie!
Anywho, if you have not seen it: host Adam Richman travels around taking various food challenges like "eat this 10 pound burger and get a T" or "if you finish this gargantuan pizza you get your picture on the wall of fame."
So here is my frustration with the show and some of what I have heard when discussing the show, ready? Okay! (Sorry there is a 4th grade cheerleader still in there!) I KNOW that this is not healthy, and I hope that Mr. Richman, sexi as he is, is taking steps to be healthy aside from all this while filming. Personally I would eat pristine and drink LOTS of water for a few weeks before and after such a feat. I would also work out HARD CORE the week leading up and easy through the week that followed. For the people who are disturbed by this behavior and the fact that such challenges exist I would like to remind them that these are fun, ridiculous selling tactics that few actually go in a order and no one eats on the usual basis. If you don't like it - move to another channel, perhaps Top Chef is a better choice for your culinary viewing - those dishes are itty.
Now to my issue with the show, actually not the show - the host. That's right, for all the love I have for the show and the adorable man who host it there is this little irk in my soul. It's his baby-ing wimp out when the going gets rough. The panting and sweating and girlie cries about how hard and rough things are. Come on, man up! This is Man VS. Food, not 3rd-grade-pansy VS. Food. I don't get it. I mean, sure the spicy ones would make me cry uncle way to soon, but the rest of them, breakfast-pizza-loaded baked potato, I could kill it like no other. Maybe I should look for a challenge around here, I am sure there are a few - then ask him out on a food porn challenge diner date? Hmmm. Let me get the wife's opinion before I go doing that! lol

Grrrr!!!! Stupid (wonderful) Posterous!

Hey guys I wanted to say I am sorry about the double post - but other than stop updating I don't know what to do about it for now?! Please excuse and try to enjoy any way! Love you!
