I have been mentioning salads a lot lately and there is a good reason for that. Salads, when done in a healthy way, can be a zero point meal. Lettuce, mushrooms, shredded carrots,
sprouts, onion slices, and a fat free dressing can not only fill you up but taste
really good for no points! I have also talked about the affordability of produce and how it's hard to keep a fresh diet on a budget. A head of lettuce cost 1.79 at my Winn-Dixie right now. Buying lettuce by the head keep it fresh longer and the salad spinner keeps it fresh WAY longer than an open bag of salad mix. For a quick salad I throw some lettuce,
mushrooms and onions in a bowl with a sprinkle of no fat dressing and a touch of garlic salt. It's really good.
